Workshop: backyard composting

This workshop will focus on the basics of backyard composting with a live demo.

Come and learn with Master Composter Larry Himelfarb about compost and its many benefits. Larry will walk you through the easy steps needed to make compost in your backyard and the materials that go into your bin. You'll also learn which items not to use, and the composting equipment and tools you'll need.

Larry Himelfarb, longtime resident of Takoma Park, has been a Montgomery County Master Gardener for more than ten years and is a certified Master Composter. He is also a county Weed Warrior. He has volunteered at Derwood, Woodend and at various plant clinics as well as providing composting presentations to the public and Scouts.
